Our Murano Italy glass factory
Where we are, how to reach us and what to see during the visit
A place where the tradition of worked art glass continues to live on in its most authentic essence
There are folkloristic places, created to please the distracted tourist, but there are also places like our Murano Italy glass factory, where the most ancient and noble artisan traditions persist in their original form despite the passing of the centuries. We at Ellegi Murano Glass have made a courageous and unconventional choice: to open our furnace to the outside world and therefore show the public not only the interiors but also what is most important to us, namely the production of artistic glassware. This means that during each guided tour inside the factory, participants will be able to admire the workers at work in front of the furnace.
The glass is extracted at high temperatures and shaped before the wide-eyed visitors. Young and old alike cannot help but be enchanted to see the hot blown or molded glass: each of the two techniques used is explained in great detail by our speaker, in the language required for the tour. All this takes place over a 20-minute period, leaving the public free to continue their tour of the town of Murano, not forgetting to stop by the showroom first to buy a certified glass souvenir. A special opportunity to have what you want without intermediaries and without waiting!
To enter our Murano glass factory, you need to book your place at one of the available times. You can fill out the booking form independently from this site, by connecting to the Book a visit page.
We also work with many hotels, tour guides and tour operators, so we are always in contact with groups and sometimes even school groups to manage access in the best possible way (up to 90 seats in the factory stands to watch the performance from the comfort of your seat). Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity!
Enjoy a 15-minute visit on the day and at the time of your choice
Our Murano glass factory visit takes only 15 minutes of your time. All you have to do is book the tour, even online from this site, and receive confirmation via email. You choose the time and day according to your preferences and the program you are following. Tours run every half hour, always in compliance with safety regulations and with groups usually divided by nationality. In the video published on the Home page and on our YouTube channel, you can have a small appetizer of what happens during a guided tour inside our Murano glass factory, in the beautiful lagoon of Venice.
The person you will see at work is a master glassmaker, i.e. a professional craftsman specialising in the techniques of blown glass and hot moulded glass. Surrounded by the various workers at work, he performs in front of an audience of tourists that includes adults and children and sometimes even four-legged animals. There is room for everyone in our factory, from couples to school groups of students on a trip. Arrange your access to the Murano glass factory visit: the cost of the ticket is only 5 euros and allows you to watch the master glassmaker’s show and then move on to the exhibition area and, if you wish, buy our beautiful souvenirs and Murano glassware creations.
If you want to reach the Ellegi Murano Glass factory you have to follow, on Google, the directions for the Fondamenta S. Giovanni dei Battuti, at number 5 of Murano, in Venice. We are just a stone’s throw from the docking area for the ferries and taxi boats that bring dozens of tourists to our little gem in the heart of the Venetian lagoon every day. If you have any doubts, please write us an email or contact us by phone at +390415274822. Enjoy your visit!
